Wedding floral design

I create thoughtful, design-led florals for weddings, shaped by atmosphere, detail and a deep understanding of your vision.

Every wedding is different. My role is to listen, interpret and translate your ideas into something that feels personal, considered and entirely yours.

“Not only is Jo the most talented florist, she is the most genuine, supportive and caring person I have come across for a very long time. Every detail was considered, from the colour palette to the types of flowers, to their sentiment and their meaning.”

My approach

I work closely with each couple from the very beginning, taking time to understand not just how you want your wedding to look, but how you want it to feel.

From initial ideas through to installation on the day, every detail is carefully considered. Colour, texture, movement and seasonality all play a part in creating florals that feel natural, cohesive and quietly distinctive.

This is not about following trends, but about creating something that reflects you.

Floral elements

Each wedding is approached as a whole, with every element designed in relation to the next. From personal flowers through to larger-scale installations, everything is considered as part of a wider composition, creating a sense of cohesion throughout the day.

“Everything was absolutely gorgeous. The bouquets, buttonholes, wrist corsages and all the bud vases for the tables. I cannot recommend Jo enough and I can’t imagine having anyone better!”

The process

The process is calm and collaborative, with a clear sense of direction throughout.

  • You’re welcome to get in touch with your date, venue and any early thoughts.

  • We’ll speak in more detail, exploring your plans and the overall direction

  • I create a considered proposal, outlining the overall approach and key elements.

  • In the lead up to your wedding, I coordinate all floral aspects, working closely with your venue and other suppliers.

  • Everything is created, delivered and installed on site, ensuring the flowers sit naturally within the space.

Where required, I return after your wedding to carefully dismantle and collect larger pieces, allowing everything to feel seamless from beginning to end.

Where I work

I am based in Meopham, northwest Kent, and work all across Kent, London and the South East.

I’m a recommended floral designer at several beautiful venues across Kent, with venues such as Elmley National Nature Reserve, Goodnestone Park, The Old Kent Barn, The Dreys, The Oak Barn, The Cherry Barn and Oak Tree Barn.

Over the years, I’ve also worked across London at venues including Sessions Arts Club, Old Sessions House, AllBright Members' Club, MKII, The Dorchester and The Ritz London, as well as many others.

Whether working within a venue I know well or somewhere entirely new, the approach remains the same. Each space is considered on its own terms, with the flowers shaped in response to its character and atmosphere.

I’m also available for destination weddings and always welcome the opportunity to work in new and inspiring locations.

About me

I’m Joanne, though most couples call me Jo.

Moody Blooms is a personal floral studio, which means every design, every conversation and every arrangement comes directly through me.

From our first conversation through to the wedding day itself, you’ll always be working with the person designing your flowers. My approach combines experience with instinct and a deep sensitivity to colour, texture and movement.

The flowers I create are not just about how they look, but how they make a space feel.
